May 1st through the 7th deals!

I hope this week's match-up's will be a little bit better this week.

Albertson's have doubles again HERE and HERE are some of the match-ups. It looks like we can get free pizza and a good deal on cereal this week!

There may be more match-ups for Safeway, but HERE and HERE have some deals until Tuesday. You can get some cheap Silk!

HERE are the New Seasons deals until Tuesday. I haven't seen any free deals for New Seasons yet, but any savings at that wonderful store always make me happy. I am hoping for an egg deal because their eggs are a good deal anyway, so a better deal would be exciting.

Here are the Walgreen's deals. You can get a great deal on toilet paper this week. It's not free, but $2 for a 12 pack of Cottonelle is pretty great, and if you took advantage of the Splenda deal last week, it is free!

My Rite Aid list is going to be short this week, but there are a few good deals HERE and HERE.

As usual my favorite blogs are running behind on the Target deals this week, and unfortunately I couldn't find any other good postings.

Good shopping this week!

LOTS of inserts in the Sunday Paper tomorrow!

I picked up the early edition of the Sunday Oregonian today and it looks like there will be 4 of the regular inserts and an extra two special ones as well!

I am excited to see what freebies and good deals will come out of this!

New Albertsons and Safeway ads!

Albertsons and Safeway are starting their new ads tomorrow.

Albertsons is not that great right now, but should be good on Sunday because there are twice the value coupons coming in the paper! So save the ad stuff for then!!

Safeway isn't very exciting, but there are a few things. I would recommend following the link on that page to check out the produce at QFC if you have one near you. $1 a pound grapes, YUM!

ALSO: Print THIS coupon NOW because it will be gone by the time you need to use it! Free Tylenol!!

Most of my week's Shopping

So it looks like I was able to get most of my week's shopping done today, except for Target because it was closed (but I'm not sure I'm getting anything there, so its all good).

Out of pocket (OOP) today I spent: $16.88

I got a total of 1 Walgreens (WAG) rewards and 3 Rite Aid +UP rewards to total: $19

So this means I made $2.15 to spend later on merchandise or food that I would not have had before.

I went to four stores: Safeway, Walgreen's, Albertsons, and Rite Aid.

Here is how I did it:

Safeway:

I purchased:
- 4 Nivea Lip Care products on sale for $.99 each (regularly 2.99 each!)

I used:
- $2/2 printable coupon from coupons.com (It's under personal care)

Safeway doesn't give the overage but they still ended up being FREE, nothing OOP!

Walgreens:

I purchased:
-1 pair of flip flops $2.99 (a cheap pair and not on sale, but I needed a pair)
-4 boxes of Splenda Sweetener on sale for $2.99 (regularly $5.49)

Now, Walgreen's coupon policy says they DO NOT give overage for coupons, they only give you the price of the item if the coupon is worth more, but sometimes the Cashiers decide to give it to you. I don't know if this is lack of training, laziness, niceness, or what, but when they do it, I just smile and say thank you.

I used:
-4 $3/1 coupons from 4/17 Smart Source (SS) insert (I only needed to buy 3 for the deal, but oh well)

I paid:
$2.95 for the flip flops ($2.99 - the $.04 overage) but really made $1.05. I would have gotten the flip flops for free truely if i had done them in a second transaction with the reward, but oh well. Live and learn!

I received:
-1 $4 off my next purchase WAG reward for buying 3 Splenda products (an unadvertised deal)

Albertsons:

I purchased:
-4 Skinny Cow Individual Ice cream cartons on sale for $1.25

I used:
-4 $1 off ANY Skinny Cow coupon

I paid:
$1.00 OOP! That's $.025 each!

 Rite Aid:

I Purchased:
-2 Arm & Hammer Spinbrush Pro $8.99 each, B1G1 Free
-2 2 count Arm & Hammer Spinbrush Pro Refills 8.99 each, B1G1 Free
-4 Baby Oragel 6.99 each, B1G1 Free (I know what your thinking, I don't have kids. I am donating these).

I Used:
- 2 Save $2.00 off any ONE ARM & HAMMER® Spinbrush® Powered Toothbrush or Refill  for the refills
- 2 $2/1 Spinbrush Printable
- 4 $1/1 any Orajel product coupon from 3/13 SS OR $1 off Printable (You would need 2 computers or the ads for this part)
- A $5 +UP reward I had gotten previously
- A $2 +UP reward I had gotten previously

I Paid:
$12.96 OOP

I Received:
3 $5 +UP rewards for purchasing (before my coupons) $30 of oral care products. $5 for each $10 worth up to $40 for customer.

This means that I made $2.04 to spend on a future order. My receipt also had a do the survey and get $3 off a $15 purchase.

I should also be making some more money with nothing or almost nothing OOP this week, but we will see and I will let you all know!

TARGET 4/24 to 4/30 deals - Diapers!

Target doesn't have very many awesome deals this week, but it loos like you can get diapers this week for super cheap! You will need a printer for this  one, but click HERE to see this deal!

CHEAP HUMMUS!!!

Ok, so apparently I was wrong about Fred Meyers not having any good deals this week!

Athenos Hummus 2 for $3
Unfortunately I already used mine for a 2.99 for 2 price, but this is so much better!

Hopefully you can print this because $.75 for hummus is awesome!

4/24 to 4/30 Deals!

Alright guys! I am trying to get this out sort of on time for you all this week!

Click HERE for some Rite Aid deals this week!

BUT I kind of like this Blog's deal layout better:

Here are the Albertson's deals for April 20th through the 26th. I personally didn't see anything that jumped out at me except for maybe the ham, but I'm not a huge ham person.

I'm not all that enthused about Safeway as well right now, but you might like it. Here you go!

QFC is another that I'm not excited about, and I am pretty sure there is only one or two in the whole Portland Metro area, but Oh well, HERE it is anyway.

HERE are the Fred Meyer deals, but I have come to realize that Fred Meyer rarely has free or ridiculously cheap deals. They do have a good deal (My stock-up price) on whole fryer chickens.

I LOVE New Seasons but except for a few exceptions (like Eggs) I don't like their prices. HERE are the current deals!

Walgreens has some good deals this week, especially on Splenda!

My favorite blogs haven't posted the Target deals yet, but here are some others I found. This is a blog written by one of the TLC's extreme couponers... which I am not an extreme couponer!

I have to give thanks to all of the Blogs that give me this information to give to you! Without them I wouldn't be able to do what I do or pass it on to you!

No Inserts this week!

Just so everyone knows, there will be NO inserts in tomorrow's paper due to the holiday, so unless you like reading the paper, don't go buying one just for the coupons!

There will still be some deals, so I will try to list them as soon as possible for you guys!

It looks like there will be some good match ups this week! I hope everyone has been collecting their coupons!

For your Albertson's deals click HERE!
HERE is another blog with some other Albertson's deals! It's always good to look at a couple of blogs!

Click HERE for an awesome Turkey Bacon coupon at Safeway until Tuesday I believe.

Do you love Turkey Bacon? I DO!! I love regular bacon as well, but Turkey Bacon is also delicious! It looks like regular bacon was on sale today, but the Turkey bacon is on sale until possibly Tuesday. Yummy!

Click HERE for the other Safeway deals of the week (NOTE: If the Safeway broth is a normal sized box, I think this is pretty good!).

Would you like a Free Banquet Pot Pie? If so you should really click on the link.

If you ever need a reason to buy body wash, HERE is a reason! Almost free, or free plus a money maker for Nivea Body Wash!!!!

HERE is Blog #1 for Rite Aid Deals... FREE Ester C!
HERE is Blog #2 for Rite Aid Deals!

Here are some Walgreens Match ups!

Here's an Eco-friendly Toilet Paper!

Here is a Target Special just for SUNDAY!!

Here are some Other Target deals... this list is LONG!

Alright! That is it for now, but be sure you get Sunday's paper! There are 4 inserts in is this week! AWESOME!

Pretty good haul!

So I forgot to take a picture of yesterday's shopping haul, but we did pretty good. Today we did pretty well for only $10.46!

So at Safeway we got:

4 Bailey's coffee creamer that will probably be used in coffee, hot chocolate, and maybe a milkshake or two. We froze them because according to the internet this is possible!
10 Powerade zeros

This would have been $24.54 before sales and coupons but I paid $5.10
After the sales prices I used 5 BOGO coupons that a blog told me to print  for the powerade, making them about $.35 each
I also used 4 $1.00 coupons clipped from inserts doubled to $1.50 each, making the creamer $.19 each! Not bad!

Walmart was a little better because I now have a donation to a needy mother to make (although it did require 6 transactions between Cody and I):

-Transaction 1:

1 Similac Sensitive formula                     $3.84
1 bag of long grain white rice                  $1.56
------------------------------------------------
Subtract a $5 off any Similac product = $ 0.20

-Transaction 2:

1 Similac Sensitive formula                     $3.84
1 bag of long grain white rice                  $1.56
------------------------------------------------
Subtract a $5 off any Similac product = $ 0.20

-Transaction 3:

1 Similac Sensitive formula                     $3.84
1 jar Nutella                                          $3.22
------------------------------------------------
Subtract a $5 off any Similac product
AND $1.00 off Nutella                      = $1.06

-Transaction 4:

1 Similac Sensitive formula                     $3.84
3 pack Jello Temptations                       $2.50
1 Yoplait Mango Yogurt                        $0.50
Tortillas                                                 $1.98
------------------------------------------------
Subtract a $5 off any Similac product
AND Free Yoplait yogurt coupon
AND Free Jello Temptations coupon = $0.32

-Transaction 5:

1 Similac Sensitive formula                     $3.84
1 Jar of Garlic lime salsa                        $1.98
1 can refried beans                                $0.82
Taco Bell Chipotle Taco Seasoning       $0.62
------------------------------------------------
Subtract a $5 off any Similac product = $2.26

-Transaction 6:

1 Similac Sensitive formula                     $3.84
1 loaf Oroweat bread                            $2.58
------------------------------------------------
Subtract a $5 off any Similac product = $1.42

I would say that is not a bad shopping day at all! We have an $80 for two weeks shopping budget and we still have $25 left. I am feeling happy about finances this week (Cody: but that still doesn't mean we can go out to dinner! I don't even think he read's my posts though!)   :-)

Safeway: Living Frugal in the NW - 3/30 to 4/5 deals

WalmartFrugal Living NW - Walmart deals the Week of April 4th

RiteAid: Frugal Living NW - 4/3 to 4/9 deals

IMPORTANT: It isn't really a secret language!

Alright, so many of you may have already looked at some couponing blogs and were really confused. Couponers use abbreviations in their deal match-ups. With some help from Kathy Spencer's blog, here is a list of the lingo.

~Desiree

B1G1 or BOGO – Buy One, Get One. You can use a BOGO coupon with a store BOGO  sale and get them both for FREE.
Blinkies – Little red  coupon machine in grocery stores with a small red blinking light that spits out coupons.

RP – Red Plum, a Sunday coupon insert.
RR – Register Reward (Walgreen’s)
SCR – Single check rebate (Rite Aid)
SS – Smart Source, a Sunday coupon insert.
Stack – To stack is to use two coupons together. For example, using a store coupon with a manufacturers coupon on the same item.
Tear pads – A block of coupons where you “tear” individual coupons from.
Wags- Walgreen’s
Wine tag – a coupon that hangs on a bottle of wine. Some say “no wine purchase necessary” and are often for fresh fruit and meat (RARE).
WYB – When you buy.

Good Luck!

OK! OK! You Win!

Due to extreme Peer Pressure I decided to start a PDX couponing blog. I can't guarantee that I will put all of the deals I find on here, and I can't guarantee that I can update it as regularly as all the other couponing blogs, but I will try!

I will mostly post (and give credit to) all of the other blogs that I find the deals on, but I will also try to post when I find deals on my own or when i find out that a deal is not exactly right.

If you guys find other deals, please let me know so that we can all pass them on!

My first recommendations:

1. Read a book or Blog on Couponing! The one that got me started is by this lady:

http://www.howtoshopforfree.net/ (Kathy Spencer)

2. COLLECT coupons! You will need AT least 1 Sunday Oregonian each week and you will also benefit from at least one computer and printer in the house.

Alright, so that is it for now. I will post some of this week's deals soon!
